Marion has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry beginning her career in Toronto as a clerk in a large insurance company. She then got into examining and telephone adjusting before moving to Beautiful British Columbia. After her move she was hired by Co-Operators Insurance involving a pilot project for recording telephone statements and trained as a road adjuster. In 1974 when ICBC took over the automobile insurance she was hired by the North Vancouver West office as a road adjuster handling bodily injury claims. A move back to London Ontario was then in the cards and marriage. After 2 years in London Ontario she started a family with her husband Ian Maxwell. Again BC was calling and they moved back with Marion staying at home to raise children.

Once the girls were in school full time Marion went back to college taking a “Special Education Assistant” course at Okanagan College in Kelowna. A move to London England came up and off they went. Marion worked for 5 years in England for the Bromley Education Authority as a classroom assistant for a school in a housing estate area. Upon the move back to Vancouver Marion worked for the North Vancouver School Board in a local high school for 3 years. As Ian, her husband, had embarked on a new venture which involved the opening of an independent adjusting firm she was drawn back into the business. She has taken several insurance institute courses and attained her level II adjusting license.

Marion currently handles the Lloyd’s program involving heavy equipment for the province of BC. Also under this marine class of business she maintains control of the cargo account. Apart from that on a day to day basis handles residential/commercial claims under a dedicated program for Lloyd’s Underwriters as well as claims referred by local underwriters.
