Ian Maxwell, Vancouver Office max01@maxwellclaims.net Ian began his career in insurance in 1960 in London England working for a Lloyd’s broker. He moved to Canada in 1965 and has been involved in claims ever since. His career has encompassed working for both companies, Guardian, Economical, and the Great American where he was the Claims Manager for BC, to independent adjusting firms both in Ontario and BC. In partnership he previously owned Maxwell Cloutier Adjusters which had 7 offices throughout BC which he sold in the mid 80’s. He moved back to London England in 1987 as the Vice President of Operations for a national adjusting firm. His sojourn there lasted for 6 years. Upon returning to Canada in 1993 Ian again opened his own adjusting firm servicing both local markets as well as Lloyd’s. At present he is heavily involved in conducting audits/surveys for certain Lloyd’s Underwriters across Canada, the US, as well as Australia. These involve both claims and compliance audits. As well he handles major forestry and logging losses throughout BC as well as in South America. . His many years of working closely with the Lloyd’s market has helped to establish the company as one of the leaders in Claims Management acting in the capacity of a Third Party Administrator.
